Staff at Nelson Hotels are celebrating after been named amongst the top 50 hospitality operators in the north of the UK at a glittering ceremony in Manchester.
The Chester-based group, which owns the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, The Bear’s Paw, The Fishpool Inn and The Pheasant Inn were again named within this elite collection of companies as part of the Kuits Northern Restaurant and Bar 2019 power list on 19 March.
The list highlights the most significant and influential hospitality companies in the region, whilst showcasing their ambition, dynamism and creativity.
In 2019 the list featured a mix of long-established names alongside up and coming talent, with six new entries and two re-entries.
A panel of experts in the fields of hospitality finance, accountancy, property, law and consultancy deliberated and cogitated through hours of research and pored over hundreds of pages of judging notes.
Thom Hetherington, CEO of organisers Holden Media said: “It’s been another strong year for the north’s leading operators, driving the industry forward with a balance of expansion, innovation and consolidation. Recent data from CGA show that the restaurant and bar scene in the major northern cities is far outperforming London, and I think that a combination of lower costs and a better lifestyle mean more and more operators are choosing to build their businesses in the north.”
