They do this through key initiatives such as the Talented Young Chef and Host scheme, a programme that allows local restaurants to nominate a young chef and host to demonstrate their drive and passion for excellent food and service.”
Cheshire’s 4* Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa are delighted to be taking part in the event, which is now celebrating its fifth year of the successful programme. The hotel have eagerly announced their choice of Young Chef, 23 year old Ben Cunliffe who will plan, cost and create his signature menu using fresh, local produce where possible. Supporting Ben throughout the evening will be 22 year old Alex Jennings; the hotel’s nominated Young Host and acting Maître d’hôtel for the event.
The evening will take place on Tuesday 29th October in the hotel’s AA Rosette awarded Ciro’s Brasserie. From 7pm diners will be greeted by their Young Host, Alex Jennings, who will introduce the evening and the sensational menu on offer. Guests will then enjoy Ben’s personalised three course menu plus a glass of house wine, followed by a selection of cheeses sponsored by Joseph Heler along with some Robinsons Brewery bottled guest beers, and finally, freshly brewed espresso coffee provided by illy.
The Young Chef and Host will be rewarded for their efforts on the evening with certificates and gifts from organising body Taste NW and also Robert Welch Designs.
The evening will conclude with a charity raffle including a hamper contribution from The Hollies Farm Shop. Raffle tickets will be sold on the evening for £1 each or £5 per strip, with all funds raised going to Taste Northwest’s 2013 nominated charity Hospitality Action.
This all-round ‘foodie’ event is an excellent platform to help the young staff members in the competitive hospitality industry, to expand their skill set and also serves to expose them to the vital experience needed when furthering their budding careers.
